Norman W. Pipes

Norman Wayne Pipes, 75, of Frankfort, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at his home in Frankfort. He was born March 18, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, to Isaac and Betty Siebert Pipes.

Norman had attended Thomas Jefferson high School in Port Arthur, Texas. Following high school, he had served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  He retired, after 35 years, as an owner/operator truck driver, had worked for NASCAR and  was a driver for emergency vehicles for 10 years. Norman was a car show enthusiast and was a Shop with a Cop supporter.

Norman is survived by three sons, Gordon W. Pipes of Frankfort, Joseph E. (Michelle) Pipes and John Pipes both of Texas; daughter, Sonya L. Torres of Carmel; sisters, Patricia Pipes and Carol (Joey) Hoosier both of Frankfort; brother, William C. (Sandra) Pipes of Willits, CA, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents, son, Christopher Pipes, and brother, Jerry Pipes.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Genda Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. followed by the funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m. with Minister Eric Testa officiating. Interment will follow in the Plainview Cemetery at Colfax. There will be a classic car line up beginning at noon for those that would like to proceed to the cemetery with the family.
