North Vermillion outscored Rossville in every quarter on its way to a 52-35 victory in the Fountain Central Sectional Saturday night in Veedersburg.
The win moved North Vermillion, 15-10, into the Frankfort Regional next Saturday where it will play Fort Wayne Canterbury at 1 p.m. In the second game next Saturday, Lafayette Central Catholic will play Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian in a Class 2A contest at 4 p.m.
North Vermillion jumped out to a 17-11 lead after one quarter and increased it to 29-20 by halftime. Leading 38-28 entering the fourth quarter, North Vermillion outscored the Hornets 14-7 in the final eight minutes to secure the title.
Matthew Ford led the Hornets, which finished 11-15, with 14 points and four rebounds. Brayden Thiele-Hahn added nine.
On Friday night, Jordan Skiles led three players in double figures with 22 points as Rossville advanced to the championship game with a 60-44 victory over Fountain Central.
Skiles also had a team-high eight rebounds..
Thiele-Hahn scored 17 points for the Hornets and Charlie Thompson added 12 points and a team-high four assists.
The game was tight throughout. Rossville was up 39-35 after three quarters and outscored Fountain Central 21-9 in the final frame.
