The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has extended a Wind Advisory for portions of central, east central, north central and west central Indiana, including Clinton County, until 11 p.m. Thursday. Three additional hours have been added to the advisory.
Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Strongest winds are expected from 1-8 p.m.
Besides Clinton, other affected areas are Boone, Carroll, Clay, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren counties.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or winds gusts of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
