National Weather Service Issues Freeze Warning Tonight for Clinton County

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Freeze Warning that will be in effect from 1-10 a.m. Wednesday morning for portions of central, north central, south central, southeast, southwest and west central Indiana, including Clinton County.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 is expected Tuesday night. Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain then and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

Sub-freezing temperatures are possible Wednesday night for essentially all locations. Elevated fire weather danger is possible Wednesday and Thursday.
