The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Carroll, Clinton, Boone, Howard, Tippecanoe, Montgomery, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph and Henry counties for Sunday, Feb. 16.
The service stated that the advisory will be in effect from midnight to 1 p.m. tomorrow, Feb. 16. The advisory states that snow is expected with total snow accumulations up to two inches with wind gusts as high as 40 miles-per-hour for portions of central, east central, north central and west central Indiana.
The service stated that the snow and ice may cause roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, to become slick and hazardous. Drivers should plan for possible slippery road conditions during their afternoon commute.
The service encouraged drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state may be found by calling 5-1-1.
If traveling outside, watch steps taken on stairs, sidewalks and driveways as the surfaces may be icy and slippery, causing an increased risk of falling or injury.
