Nygetta “Nikki” Rose Gorman, 97, of Frankfort, passed away at her home on Monday, November 29, 2021. She was born March 14, 1924, in Dorrisville, Ohio, to Jesse and Lucille (Frailey) Dooley. She married Donald Wayne Gorman on December 31, 1943, and he preceded him in death on March 3, 2002.
Nikki graduated from George Rogers Clark in Hammond in 1942. She worked for the Clinton County Auditor’s Office for 13 years and had also worked in the Spiegel and JC Penney catalog departments. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, where she served as Past President, as well as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and East Side Christian Church. Nikki loved to play bingo, bowl, and sing karaoke.
Nikki is survived by daughters, Kathy Shelley and Jacque (John) Clements, both of Frankfort; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Donald W. Gorman, Jr., and three brothers, Ralph, Warren, and Tom.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, with the funeral service on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home, officiated by Shan Sheridan. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Nikki’s name may be made to either the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the VFW Auxiliary.
