Only Four Individuals Have Filed So Far for School Boards

With one week left to declare their intentions to run for school boards in the four county schools, only four individuals have signed up so far. The deadline to file is noon on Friday, August 24.

Each district — Community Schools of Frankfort, Clinton Central School Corporation, Clinton Prairie School Corporation and the Rossville Consolidated Schools — has had one individual elect to run for a school board post.

Incumbents Kristin Beardsley, District 4 in Frankfort, and Joe Mink, at-large in Rossville, have both filed. The other two individuals who have filed so far are Robert Allen for Washington Township at Clinton Prairie, and Bryce Eaton for an at-large spot at Clinton Central.

Beardsley, along with Jeff Tatum, Board President Sandy Miller and Mark Sheets, have terms that are expiring in Frankfort. School officials have said that both Tatum and Miller will not seek re-election.

Others whose terms are up are Nathan Root in Rossville; Board President Tim Snyder and Mike McGraw in Clinton Prairie; and Board President Katie Cohee, Matt McQuinn and Gina Crenshaw are up in Clinton Central.

The Community Schools of Frankfort and Clinton Central both have seven-member school boards, while both Clinton Prairie and Rossville each have five-member boards.
