According to Street Superintendent Jason Forsythe, this year’s Operation Fall Clean Up will be held starting Monday October 1 and ending on Saturday, October 6. The hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. We will be offering free drop off at the Street Department location at 905 Burlington Avenue. The service is not available for businesses.
Residents can drop off two pickup truck loads of materials per residence, including large bulk items such as couches, mattresses, box springs, appliances, carpet, chairs, up to two car tires, dressers and TVs.
Residents will be required to show identification at the gate upon arrival at the Street Department. Absolutely no remodeling or building materials will be accepted including lumber, concrete, drywall, countertops, floor tiles or roof shingles, Forsythe said.
For those of you wanting to get a head start on cleaning their own properties, Clinton County Residents can take advantage of Republic Services Clinton County Landfill’s Fall Clean up Free Day on Saturday September 29 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the landfill site at 2700 North State Road 39.
Pick-up trucks, family vans and car loads of items for disposal can be dropped off free of charge that day at the landfill with no trailers allowed. NO electronics (TV’s, computers, etc.), roofing, appliances, tires, batteries, yard waste or liquids are allowed.
