ORV Accident Leaves Danville Man Injured

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off-road vehicle (ORV) accident in which one adult male sustained injuries.

The accident occurred at approximately 3 a.m., near the intersection of Wisper Wood Trail and N 200 E in Danville.

Shane Mowery, age 41 of Danville, was operating an ORV on a public road way. For reasons not yet known, Mowery lost control of the ORV and was thrown off.

Mowery was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis by ambulance. Mowery is being treated for a fractured skull.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated, but alcohol appears to have been involved. The victim was not wearing a helmet or proper safety equipment. Indiana Conservation Officers stress safe operation of ORV’s and the use of proper protective equipment such as helmets.
