Over Heated Vent Stack Causes Fire at Fontana Fasteners

Frankfort Fire Department crews battled a furnace stack fire at Fontana Fasteners for about 90 minutes late Monday afternoon.

At approximately 4:39 p.m., crews were called to the fastener supply plant in rural Frankfort after the plant’s vent stacks over heated and caused a fire on the bottom floor. Those flames then ignited the roof.

Fire Department officials said there were no injuries and the fires caused minor damage to the roof.
