Overdose Awareness Day Coming to Frankfort’s Prairie Creek Park Later This Month

Individuals in Frankfort, Indiana and around the world are coming together on Tuesday, August 31, to participate in International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD).

IOAD is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those who have died and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.

Every year we are losing loved ones from drug overdose, with devastating impact to their families and friends.

Frankfort is not immune. You may not have seen it, but it has happened to people around you. Tomorrow, it could happen to someone you love. This is not an invisible issue.

Come join us Tuesday, August 31 at Prairie Creek Park from 5-9 p.m. There will be guest speakers, peer to peer recovery support, Narcan training, treatment resources, wall of remembrance, live music provided by Beyond Carolina and Large Sound DJ, as well as food available for purchase from The Guac Box and Twisted Stixx.
