Mulberry Community Club Launches Fundraising Campaign for Downtown Mural Project

The Mulberry Community Club is inviting the community to help bring a new public art project to life through a local fundraising campaign.

With the support of a matching grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), the club has accepted the challenge of raising $20,000 locally for the Mulberry Mural Project. If the goal is met by 11:45 p.m. on September 22, 2026, the project will qualify for matching grant funds.

The mural is designed to beautify downtown Mulberry and create a lasting landmark for residents and visitors. The project is being spearheaded by Mulberry resident Joyce Newton and campaign manager Lewis Wheeler.

Beginning August 5, residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and watch the mural take shape on the east exterior wall of Sanford & Daughter, located at 140 E. Jackson Street in Mulberry.

The mural will be created by internationally recognized artist BK Foxx, who is known for producing photorealistic murals using only spray paint—without brushes, projectors, or stencils.

Community members who would like to support the project can mail donations to:

Town of Mulberry
P.O. Box 250

Please designate all donations for the “Mulberry Mural.”
