Patricia J. Gann

Mrs. Patricia “Pat” J. Gann, 91, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born on August 28, 1933, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Virgil Ottinger and Eunice (Muston) Ottinger.

Pat grew up on farms in New Augusta, Pittsboro and Jamestown, Indiana, which allowed her to cultivate her love of gardening, cooking and baking. Feeding others became her love language. She also learned what it meant to be a hard-working and a dedicated caretaker with the fortitude to carry on during the most difficult times.

Patricia was a 1951 graduate of Jackson Township High School in Jamestown. During high school, she was introduced to her brother Russell’s friend, Ralph Gann, whom she married on September 14, 1951, at the Jamestown Christian Church, where they are current members. They spent 73 loving years together.
Pat loved shopping, spending time at the lake camping, sun-bathing and enjoying friends around the campfire, square dancing and most of all taking care of her family. She was an avid collector of porcelain dolls, loved cooking and baking and maintained a meticulous home. Holidays and birthdays were always a big deal and meant everything to her. Her home was never in short supply of candies, cookies, cakes, pies and love. She and Ralph loved exploring new places by taking cruises and traveling the country. When it came time to organize her 60th high school reunion, Pat was quick to volunteer to help organize it and she greatly enjoyed visiting with her high school friends.

Patricia worked for W.W. Poultry of Jamestown, Aircraft and Electronics of Avon, and Kauffman Engineering of Lebanon. She retired in 1982.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was proceeded in death by her five siblings and her beloved Boston Terrier, Missy.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Ralph; three children, Linda (Mike) Nodley of Lebanon, Michael (Roxanne) Gann of Florida, and James (Sara) Gann of Brownsburg; grandchildren, Cary Nodley, Krissy Nodley, Adrienne Schmetzer, Christian (Doris) Gann, Laura Edwards, Alicia (Ben) Weaver, Breanna (Jeff) Pratt; great-grandchildren, Nora, Madeline, Hayden, Lilly, Eli, Brooks, Emilia and Uriah; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services are planned for 12:00 noon on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow services at Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
