Patricia Joan Strain, 90, of Frankfort, died March 15, 2019 at Wesley Manor. She was born September 21, 1928 in Charleston, Ill., to William & Mary (Doty) Scott. She married LeMoine Strain on August 18, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 10, 1992.
Joan was a 1946 graduate of Frankfort High School. She was co-owner and manager of Shanklin Hardware & Gifts, and worked at Hallmark and This n That. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Joan was also a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and served as a Beta Tau Chapter president, a member of Eastern Star and Girl Scouts of America, serving as a Bro
wnie and Girl Scout Troop Leader.
She is survived by Daughter: Sandra Louise (Paul) Jannsen of Maineville, OH, Son: Scott Alan (Patricia) Strain of Middleton, WI, Sister: Mary Jane ‘Janie’ Davis of Falls City, NE, 3 Grandchildren, Jeff (Lori) Jannsen of Carmel, Brian (Katie) Strain of S. Lyons, MI and Nicholas (Lara) Strain of McFarland, WI, and 6 Great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Jean Bruce and a nephew, Robert “Bobby” Bruce.

Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Wesley Manor Chapel, 1555 N. Main St., Frankfort, Indiana. Funeral Celebration will begin at 11 a.m. Monday April 1st at Wesley Manor Chapel. Private family burial will take place in Green Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice (guardianangelhospice.com) and Wesley Manor BHI Foundation, envelopes will be available.
