Patricia “Patty” Sue Ferguson, 72, of Frankfort passed away August 23, 2026 peacefully in her home. She was born September 2, 1953 in Frankfort, Indiana to Albert Freels and Carol Joan (Scott) Giles. She married James Thomas “Tommy” Ferguson on September 28, 1968 and he survives.
Patty retired from the Frankfort Eagles after many years serving as the Bar Manager. One of Patty’s greatest joys was watching her grandchildren, Ella, Sadie, and Kye, grow up and cheer them on in all of their activities. She especially loved being in the stands and along the sidelines, proudly watching them play sports and celebrating every accomplishment, big or small. Some of the most cherished memories were made during summer vacations together, traveling to the beach and the mountains, where the family enjoyed time together, made memories, and simply enjoyed being with one another. Her love for her grandchildren and the time she spent with them will forever be treasured and remembered.
Surviving are: her husband, Tommy; her daughters, Lisa Ferguson of Frankfort, and Lacey (David) Jacobs of Frankfort; her brothers, Bruce Freels of Frankfort, Scotty Freels of Frankfort, and Randy Freels of Frankfort; and three grandchildren, Ella Grace Jacobs, Kye James Jacobs, and Sadie Claire Weliver, and her step-mother, Diana Freels.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jeff Freels; and a sister Kathy King.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Bunnell Cemetery. Goodwin Funeral Home and the Clinton County Crematory are honored to assist the Ferguson family. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Prairie Athletic Department, c/o Clarice Good, 2400 S CR 450 W, Frankfort, IN 46041.
