The Paw Prints 4-H Dog Club of Clinton County is reaching out to you for help. They are wanting to raise money for a new building for their kids and their dogs to have a permanent place to practice, show and call their own.
They currently use the livestock show arena for their practices prior to the fair. During fair week, they are at the mercy of the various livestock shows and auction as to when they can have their obedience, showmanship and any other competitions.
Even though their dogs are used to being in the show arena, their obedience and showmanship show is the last Saturday of the fair after all the livestock have been in the arena. A dog’s nose is 10,000 times more sensitive than humans, thus making for huge distractions for the dogs and their handlers on show day.
They are having a fundraiser on Monday, September 10, at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. Their goal is to raise $40,000. They are planning to build a place large enough to have two show arenas and run agility inside. Concrete floors, bleachers and storage are all part of the plan.
If you have any questions, require further information or would like to help them us with the construction of the building, please contact Carin Moskovitz (4-H dog leader) at 765-650-6455. Please leave her a message and she will return your call at her earliest opportunity.
