Pedro “Pete” Luevano De Leon, 72, of Kirklin, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at his home.
He was born October 9, 1945, in Old Glory, Texas, to Eulalio and Rosa Luevano De Leon. On September 26, 1966, Pete married Beatriz Garcia at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Heart, Michigan; she survives.
In 1969, he moved to Indiana. Throughout his life, Pete worked at Moore-Costlow Fertilizer and Feed Plant for 12 years, retired from Bridgestone Firestone after 28 years of service, and owned and operated a trucking company with his sons for several years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and United Steel Workers of America Local 138. Pete enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family including his chihuahua, Bella, who will all miss him greatly.
In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by his children, Pedro (Mary) De Leon Jr., of Kansas, Juan Jesus De Leon, of Russiaville, Eulalio Jose (Amy) De Leon, of Kirklin, and Wade (Cindy) Stowers, of Frankfort; brother, Eliberto De Leon, of Texas, sister, Marta Cantu, of Texas; and nine grandchildren.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Rosary services will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. during the visitation. Funeral mass will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon with Fr. Timothy Kroeger officiating.
