Pennsylvania Murder Suspect Arrested in Lebanon

On Friday night, 49-year-old Edward Heck of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, was arrested by members of the Boone County Special Response Team on a warrant out of Lycoming County Pennsylvania for Criminal Homicide.
Around 8 p.m, officers with the Lebanon Police Department were notified by detectives with the Williamsport, Pennsylvania Police Department that a suspect in a homicide that occurred in their jurisdiction was believed to be at a hotel near Interstate 65 in Lebanon.
Officers located the murder suspect’s vehicle at Americas Best Value Inn, located at 1280 West State Road 32 in Lebanon. After establishing a perimeter in the area,the Boone County Special Response Team was called to assist.
Heck surrendered peacefully to law enforcement officers at approximately 10:38 p.m. outside his hotel room. Also taken into custody was 33-year-old Kenneth W. Smith of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Heck and Smith were both transported to the Lebanon Police Department to be interviewed by Detectives with the Lebanon Police Department. Investigators are working with authorities in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to collect any evidence that may be located on both individuals, their hotel rooms, and their vehicle.
Heck will be transported to the Boone County Jail, where he will be lodged on the Criminal Homicide Warrant pending the extradition process to return him to
authorities in Pennsylvania. Smith was released after being interviewed by Investigators.
