The Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department will host a food giveaway and community safety event Saturday, October 17, for residents of Perry Township and Colfax.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department in Colfax.
Residents will be able to receive food packages, along with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and gas detectors.
The fire department will also distribute Roth ID tags for families with children who are still using a car seat. The identification tags can help responders identify a child’s parents in the event of an accident.
Residents receiving a food package or smoke detector will need to bring two documents showing proof of residence.
