Phillip J. “Phil” Emens

Phillip J. “Phil” Emens, 73, of rural Frankfort, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, at his home.  He was born on November 25, 1951, in Clinton County to Fay and Ruby (Weaver) Emens.  He married Jane Reeves on April 28, 1973, and she survives.

Phil was a 1970 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School.  He served 2 years in the United States Army with the Special Forces, 18 of those months in Vietnam.  He then served 21 years in the Indiana National Guard.  He worked at Federal Mogul and then Frito Lay until his retirement.  Phil had previously attended Rossville United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed woodworking and playing golf at Angel Hill Golf Course.  He was known for his witty personality that drew people to him.  He never met a stranger and was known as the “Unofficial Mayor of Cambria.”  Most of all Phil loved his family and spending time with them.  He especially enjoyed watching his granddaughters play volleyball at Rossville from 4th through 12th grade and seeing them show their goats at the Clinton County Fair.

Along with his wife of 52 years, Phil is survived by his daughters, Anita (Greg) Lowery and Rachelle Emens; grandchildren, Rebecca Lowery and Reanna (Clayton) Stover; and a great-granddaughter, Harper Stover

Phil was preceded in passing by his parents; sister, Sally Petre; and brother Ben Emens.

Visitation will be held, Monday, December 1, 2025, from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville.
