Sascha Pirch of Frankfort fired a 2-over-par 74 to finish third in the IHSAA Sectional Golf Tournament Saturday at Coyote Crossing Golf Course in West Lafayette.
Pirch’s score was three shots behind Tom Newton of Harrison and one behind runner-up Nic Hofman of Harrison. Rounding out the top five were Sean Buckley of Lafayette Central Catholic with a 76 and Ajani Johnson of Harrison at 81.
Pirch now moves on to regional play on Thursday at Sandy Pines Golf Club in Lake Central.
Harrison won the team title with a score of 312, 25 shots better than runner-up Central Catholic. West Lafayette was third at 346.
Scores and teams from the area included: Rossville (seventh at 379), Frankfort (eighth at 394), Clinton Prairie (ninth at 418) and Clinton Central (12th at 443).
