From her website, heidiannharner.com: “My process is one of discovery and adventure. I rarely know what a painting is going to look like when I start. First there is stream-of-consciousness play, then I work with the newly created shapes, lines, and textures, pushing back, pulling forward, scraping out, adding in, until I am satisfied with the whole. I work in oil, acrylic, charcoal, and pencil, focusing on harmony and movement to convey emotion and wonder. Working in layers encourages viewers to participate in the process of discovering elements underneath and within the painting, inviting them into this process with me.”
Inspired by Nature: Plant Based Abstracts by Heidi Harner will be on display in the Hubbard Gallery through Aug. 30, 2019. Artwork is for sale, and a portion of each sale may be tax deductible.
