Kaspar Media will hold its Third Annual Points of Light Volunteer Fair at the 51 West Event Center in downtown Frankfort from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9. Each year about 30 area non-profit organizations participate.
The mission of the “Points of Light Volunteer Fair” is to inspire, recognize and encourage people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. Non-profit organizations will be invited to communicate their mission and promote their volunteer needs. The fair is being held during National Volunteer Week April 7-13.
The past two years, this event has been held at Ivy Tech Community College and the 4-H Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds.
Food and drinks will be served at no charge to all attendees and exhibitors as a “thank you” for participating! Door prizes will be given away to attendees throughout the day. A random drawing will be held for a one night for two at the French Lick Resort, a $500 prize and for a $250 prize for two participating non-profits to use as the non-profit sees fit.
Space will be available to non-profits on a first come, first served basis at no charge.
There are five organizations coming to the event for the first time. They are F.U.N. (Frankfort’s Unified Neighborhoods), Food Finders Food Bank, Inc., Wabash Valley Astronomical Society, Frankfort Parks Department and Clinton County Foundation for Youth (Camp Cullom).
Other organizations who have indicated they are attending include Optimist Club, COACH Kids of Clinton County, Inc., Clinton County Family YMCA, American Red Cross, Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition, Purdue Extension of Clinton County, Salvation Army of Clinton County, The Learning Network, Frankfort Community Public Library, Clinton County Habitat for Humanity, The ARC of Clinton County, Humane Society of Clinton County, Quinton’s House Child Advocacy Center, Open Door Health Clinic, Frankfort Lions Club, Paul Phillippe Resource Center, The Crossing Education Center, Abilities Services, Inc., Frankfort Fire Department and the Clinton County Boys and Girls Club.
