Police Announce Road Closures for Hot Dog Festival

The annual Frankfort Hot Dog Festival starts tomorrow, July 26, and concludes on Sunday, July 28 with a Community Worship Service on E Washington Street at the Prairie Creek Park stage. Several downtown streets will be closed due to the festivities and the Bun Run on Saturday morning. Road closures have already begun Thursday and will continue throughout the day and evening hours.

According to Chief Troy Bacon, “Several city streets will be closed to help ensure a safe, fun and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits the Hog Dog Festival. Uniformed officers will be conducting foot patrols during the festival to assist with any questions visitors may have.”

Frankfort Hot Dog Festival Road closures:

  • Clinton St between Columbia St and Main St
  • Clinton St between Main and Jackson St
  • Clinton St between Jackson St and Sycamore St
  • Clinton St from Columbia to the Frankfort Public Library (Saturday)
  • Main St between Walnut St and N Main St at the Railroad tracks
  • Washington St between Columbia St and Jackson St
  • Washington St from Jackson St to Sycamore St

Road closures and delays are expected on Saturday, July 27 for the 5k Bun Run/Walk starting at approximately 7 a.m. Expect closures and delays at the following intersections:

  • Clinton St and Jackson St
  • Clay St and Clinton St
  • Clinton St and Williams St
  • Clinton St and Hoke Ave
  • Clinton St and Crescent Dr
  • Clinton St and Maish Rd
  • Maish Rd and Washington Dr
  • Outer Dr and Washington Dr
  • Maish Rd and Outer Dr
  • Crescent Dr and Washington St

“Uniformed police officers and volunteers will be positioned along the route at designated intersections to inform motorist of closures and help runners navigate the course. Please use caution when driving in these areas”, said Chief Bacon.
