Police Continue Search For Man Who Allegedly Stole Funds From Homeowners In Boone County

The Jamestown Police Department stated that a man is wanted on a warrant in Boone County for two counts of felony theft related to scamming homeowners in the community, and reports state that further charges may be added to the initial counts.

The department released that John Abney, formerly of Ladoga, is wanted on a warrant in Boone County for two counts of felony theft for allegedly “ripping off” a Jamestown homeowner for thousands of dollars for home improvement work that never began, with claims that he spent the money elsewhere.

The department stated that it is believed the individual, through his business at JC Exteriors, took funds from multiple homeowners around west-central Indiana and did not complete the projects or show up for the projects to begin them.

The department asked for anyone who has paid or knows of others who have paid for JC Exteriors to complete work that was not completed to contact their local police department. Information may be shared with the Jamestown Police as well by calling 765-676-9484.
