This fun-filled event was created to honor Deputy Pickett and send his family to Washington D.C. in May 2019 to participate in National Police Week activities including a Candlelight Vigil and Memorial Service honoring Deputy Jacob Pickett. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
In addition to the thrilling polo match, candy will fall from the sky at half time, there will be a K9 Demonstration, live auction and children will enjoy activities created just for them. Dress in style, bring your picnic lunch/beverages and be prepared to have a fun-filled day. Don’t feel like packing a picnic? Food vendors including Whitestown’s own LA Café will have food and drink available for purchase.
