Prairie Grass Observatory Cancelling Tonight’s Open House Due to Cloudy Skies

Camp Cullom has been monitoring the Prairie Grass Observatory clear sky clock, national weather service and aviation weather forecasts for tonight as preparations are being made for the first Prairie Grass Observatory Open House of the year scheduled for tonight.  Additionally, winds are predicted to be 10 gusting to 20 at about 9PM, meaning even if the stars start to peek through,  our scopes will be blown around a bit and further degrades the experience.

Good News, Bad News.

Looks like skies will clear tonight.  Bad news is…models look like skies will be too cloudy up to about midnight…THEN the stars will come out.   Since this is a family event, that will be too late to get down to business.

Camp Cullom cancels tonight’s open house.  May 15th will be the next regularly scheduled Observatory Open House.
