A Clinton Prairie senior was named as one the 40 Hoosier athletes to receive the honor of Indiana Academic All-Star.
Emmy Wallace of Clinton Prairie High School was initially nominated alongside 279 other students for the Indiana Association of School Principals Academic All-Star designation, and she was officially selected as one of the 40 students across the state to be honored at the ceremony at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis Thursday evening.
Every All-Star athlete was given the opportunity to honor their most influential educator, and Wallace selected Heath Johnson as her honoree. Before the presentations began Thursday night, Wallace was also presented with a surprise scholarship from Purdue University.
“It was a great afternoon celebrating Emmy’s accomplishments and Mr. Johnson’s role in her journey,” Kirsten Clark, Prairie Principal, said. “Congratulations, Emmy; we are proud of you.”
