Inside INdiana Business is reporting that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that jobs in the field of data analysis are projected to grow 26 percent over the next ten years. Acting upon that data, Purdue University Global has launched a new Bachelor of Science degree program in analytics.
The online institution says it developed the curriculum with input from industry experts. The school says the courses will teach skills including the application of technical, statistical tools and processes to analyze many types of data.
Purdue Global says it has a partnership with technology solutions firm, ManTech. The company says it offers wide-ranging services, including data collection and analytics, for U.S. defense and intelligence communities.
“Our relationship with ManTech continues to grow as we’ve been able to demonstrate results through quality programming, flexibility and our tailored approach to educating working adults,” said Jeffrey Buck, dean of Purdue Global’s School of Business and IT. “This innovative degree program in analytics is designed to prepare individuals with the knowledge to become significant contributors in the data-driven economy.”
ManTech says it will pay for its employees to earn an analytics degree through Purdue Global. The company offers a similar employee educational benefit in the fields of information technology, cybersecurity and cloud computing.
“Our collaboration with Purdue Global has already led to bachelor’s and master’s degrees for ManTech employees, and we will see a wave of graduates from these exciting programs in 2020,” said Jeff Brody, chief human resources officer at ManTech.
Purdue Global says the analytics degree, like its other programs. is built to accommodate busy work schedules.
