Reba Margaret Runyan, 87, of rural Rossville, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at IU Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born on October 16, 1934, in Crossville, Tennessee, to Hilva and Mandy (McCoy) Jones.
Reba graduated from Lauramie High School in Stockwell. She had worked for Loeb’s Department Store as a fashion buyer for ready-to-wear for 25 years and had been the manager of Three Weaver’s Textile Shops for over 20 years, both in Lafayette. Reba enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, football and basketball, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with her family and her kind and caring neighbors. She had been a member of the Valley Baptist Church in Flora where she enjoyed Bible School classes on Sundays after church.
Surviving Reba is a daughter, Lynn (Robert) Cole of Lafayette, son, Gary Snyder of Owasco; step-daughter, Debbie Hall of Indianapolis; step-son, Stephen (Karen) Runyan of Fort Wayne; brother, Lee Jones of Romney; granddaughter, Michelle L. (Brian) Piper of Charlestown, grandson, Joshua L. (Laura) Cole of Lafayette; and great-grandsons, Zachary and Cole Piper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, James L. Snyder (whom she was married to from January 1952 to August 1973); her second husband, Gene C. Runyon (whom she was married to from December 3, 1976 to October 5, 2001); and sisters, Ruby Garrett, Jean Rosenthal, and toddler-Ruth Jones
