The busy summer crew after a few brief weeks, has completed their work and the Red Barn Summer Theatre, excepting an occasional squirrel, is quiet and empty. The Red Barn, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, did not stage a season this summer for the first time in over 40 years. Bethany Sheets, Box Office and Community Outreach Manager of the Red Barn said “It’s clear that our patrons love the Barn as much as we do. They were disappointed we had to close our doors this summer, but have been so supportive and understanding.”
But meanwhile, the folks at the Red Barn have much to do and much to plan. And to keep the Red Barn operational until they can once again turn on their lights and fill their seats—they are asking for a little bit of assistance.
The Red Barn announced that they are having a one-month fund drive—from August 1st until September 1st. As a special thank-you for donations of 25 dollars or more, the Red Barn will ship a specially designed Red Barn Summer Theatre T-shirt to donors. The T-shirt is white with a red logo and will be mailed or delivered to you within two weeks.
Maybe you’ve attended for decades, or maybe you’re new to the area and just drove out and saw your first performance last year. Or maybe you just like the idea that Frankfort has had such a unique theatre for so long. If you do, please support the Red Barn with a tax-deductible gift of 25 dollars or more.
In return, the Red Barn would like to thank donors by sending a Red Barn Summer Theatre T-shirt. “It’s an inexpensive way to support the Barn,” Sheets said. “We hope this gives our community another opportunity to show their support. We are fortunate to have had such a wonderful performance space for over 50 years and we are dedicated to continue to grow the arts in Clinton County.”
