Reggie Wayne to be Inducted Into Colts Ring of Honor

Inside INdiana Business is reporting the Indianapolis Colts have announced former wide receiver Reggie Wayne will be the newest member of the Colts Ring of Honor. Wayne will be inducted at Lucas Oil Stadium during the 2018 season.

Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay “No one is more of a true Colt than Reggie Wayne.”  “He embodies everything about the Horseshoe and is much beloved by Colts fans everywhere. He is also one of the greatest players in NFL history, and chants of ‘REG-GIE, REG-GIE will forever echo through our stadium along with memories of many amazing catches and exciting plays. I could not be more proud and honored to induct Reggie Wayne into the Colts Ring of Honor.”

The University of Miami product played 14 seasons (2001-2014) with the Colts after being picked in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft. Wayne made his mark while a member of the Colts:

  • Played in 211 games (197 starts), the most games in franchise history
  • Totaled 1,070 receptions for 14,345 yards and 82 touchdowns
  • Ranks 10th in NFL history in receptions and receiving yards and is tied for 23rd in receiving touchdowns
  • Registered 43 100-yard receiving games, which ranks tied for 15th in league history
  •  Member of the Colts Super Bowl XLI championship team
  • Six-time Pro Bowl selection and First Team Associated Press NFL All-Pro in 2010.

Wayne’s 14 years with the team is tied for second most in Colts history, and his 189 consecutive game streak is the third longest in team history. He ranks in the top five in team history in several categories, including total touchdowns (3rd), receptions (2nd), games with a reception (1st), and receiving yards (2nd).

Wayne will be the 15th member of the Ring of Honor, joining: Owner Robert Irsay (1996), WR-Bill Brooks (1998), Head Coach Ted Marchibroda (2000), OL-Chris Hinton (2001), QB-Jim Harbaugh (2005), “Colts Nation” (2007), Head Coach Tony Dungy (2010), WR-Marvin Harrison (2011), RB-Edgerrin James (2012), RB-Eric Dickerson and RB-Marshall Faulk (2013), C-Jeff Saturday (2015), General Manager Bill Polian (2016) and QB-Peyton Manning (2017).
