Lace up your running shoes and get ready to support local firefighters at the 2nd Annual On Fire For Our Fighters 5K, benefiting the Lafayette Fire Support Foundation. The event will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Lafayette Fire Department Station #5 and McCaw Park.
Both runners and walkers are welcome to participate in this family-friendly event, which offers a unique race-day experience surrounded by fire trucks and firefighters. Children can enjoy the McCaw Park playground while adults explore the pickleball courts. Food and beverages will also be available, making it a community celebration beyond the race.
All participants will receive a commemorative event shirt and medal.
Proceeds from the 5K will support the Foundation’s 2025 fundraising goal of $55,000 to purchase 50 Personal Thermal Imaging Cameras—one for every seat on each fire truck. These life-saving devices are designed to help firefighters maintain orientation in burning structures, enhancing both their safety and the safety of those who may need to be rescued.
Registration is now open for the event. Organizers encourage the community to come out, join the fun, and help make a difference for the firefighters who put their lives on the line every day.
