Reuel “Buck” Marcus Crum, 84, of Rossville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville. He was born to Paul M. and Helen I. (Wingler) Crum on March 7, 1938, in Clinton County, IN. He married Alice Ritchie on August 12, 2006; she survives.
Buck graduated in 1956 from Rossville High School. He was a long-time farmer and had received several awards over the years. In 1958, he received the American Farmer’s Degree. In the 1970’s, Buck received the Honorary Chapter Farmer’s Degree from Carroll County High School. In the 1990’s, he received the Chapter Farmer’s Degree from Rossville High School. Because of Buck’s love of the farm. He enjoyed refurbishing several antique tractors over the years.
Buck had served on the Geetingsville Telephone Company Board for 40 years; 24 years as Vice President and 16 years as President. He had been the sexton of the Geetingsville Cemetery for eight years and served on the Milner Community Health Board for six years with three of those serving as president. He was a member of the Geetingsville Presbyterian Church and the Elks in Lebanon. He and his wife loved spending the winters in the North Fort Myers area of Florida for the past 20 years.
Surviving Buck is his wife, Alice; son, Brad M. Crum of Frankfort; daughter, Rhonda S. Crum of Rossville; sisters, Carolyn A. (Jim) Devore and Mary Janet (Tom) Powell of Rossville; and grandchildren, Lily and Maya DeNoma.
In addition to his parents, Buck is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth S. (Wally) Lewellyn and brother and sister-in-law, John A. (Mary Jo) Crum.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from noon until the start of the funeral service at 2pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home – Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Pastors Carrie and Mike Munson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Geetingsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Geetingsville Presbyterian Church.
