Rev. James A. “Jim” Meek

Rev. James A. “Jim” Meek, 81, of Frankfort, Ind., died January 31, 2023 at IU Health Frankfort Hospital.  He was born on May 4, 1941 in Madison, Ind. to Russell and Jeanette (Winburn) Meek.  His first marriage was to Clara Brophy and she preceded him in death.  He married Rachel D. Smith on August 6, 1994 and she survives.

Rev. Meek was a graduate of Austin High School in Austin, Indiana and he attended Frankfort Pilgrim College.  He was Associate Pastor of Victory Chapel in Frankfort.  He enjoyed hunting deer and raccoon.

Surviving along with his wife Rachel are his Children: Mike (Ann) Meek of Lake City, Florida, Penny Sue (Clayton) Biddle, Wabash, Indiana, Loyd (Jessica) Meek of Frankfort, Indiana, Rose (DJ) Maley of West Virginia, Kristy (Michael) Snyder of Corydon, Indiana, and Anna Meek of Westfield, Indiana; Grandchildren:  Jeanetta, Jodi, Jonathan, Doug, Elisha, Jimmy, Mary, Abigail, Emily, Russell, Ezra, Joel and Aaron; and several Great-Grandchildren.  Also surviving are several that called him “Uncle Jim”.  He was preceded in death by his daughter: Kathy Meek.

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Victory Chapel, 196 Lewis Smith Drive, Frankfort, Frankfort, IN 46041.  The funeral service will begin 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.  Rev. James Barnard and Rev. Joe Smith will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery, Frankfort.  Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort, is honored to assist Rev.
