Ricky “Jap” King

Ricky “Jap” King, 69, of rural Frankfort, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Witham Hospital in Lebanon. He was born on October 23, 1953, to Robert H. and Imogene (Harris) King. He married Ann M. Moore on September 28 2012; she survives.

Ricky worked as a Tool & Die Maker at Federal Mogul in Frankfort for 46 years, retiring in December 2018. He liked fast cars, driving fast cars, fishing, hunting, IU football and basketball, and the Colts. He was a devoted and loyal family man, a good husband, amazing father, and grandfather, all around good guy, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and anyone he was around. He was always there when you needed him. Ricky graduated from Clinton Central with the class of 1972.

Surviving Ricky in addition to his wife, Ann, are his children, Brian D. Pitzer, Laci A. Bishop, Dustin G. King, Eric M. (Sarah) King, and Abigail M. (Axel Burris) Bishop; siblings, Cheryl Arion, Chris (Mary) King, and Cindy King; sister-in-law, Jayne King; 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1st wife, Judith Ann Pitzer; brothers, Gerald and David King.

Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 4 to 8 pm at the Kirklin American Legion.   Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Frankfort is entrusted with the arrangements.
