Robert Allen Gochenour, 91, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at his residence. He was born on January 26, 1930, in Lafayette to Ora A. and Josephine B. (Roth) Gochenour. He married Nada Thompson on March 18, 1956 in Marshalltown, IA, and she survives.
Robert was a 1947 graduate of Rossville High School. He was a career farmer. He was a member of Rossville Bible Fellowship. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School, raising pigs with his dogs Buster and Tippy, traveling and collecting farm toys. He and his wife had served as administrators of the Rossville Food Pantry for 12 years.
Along with his wife of 65 years, Robert is survived by his children, David Gochenour and Sue (Robert) Atkinson; brother-in-law, Dwain (Phyllis) Thompson; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant children; brother, Morris (Hazel) Gochenour; and brother-in-law, John Dee (Nancy Jo) Thompson.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 from 10am until the time of the service at 11am at Genda Funeral Home ~ Rossville Chapel. Pastor Chris Albin will officiate.
