Robert “Bobby” Wayne Driggs, 62, of Lafayette, formerly of Mulberry, passed away on March 18, 2021 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born on July 3, 1958 in Frankfort to Jack and Margaret (Pickering) Driggs. He married Mary Dawn Thompson on October 6,1979; she preceded him in death on November 7, 2013.
Bobby lived most of his life in Clinton County, attending Mulberry Elementary School and Frankfort Middle School and High School. He completed a four-year apprenticeship with the Local 103 Operator Union becoming a lifelong member of the Union and a heavy equipment operator.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting coon and deer in his early years; and took pride in caring for his lawn and his vegetable garden. He loved listening to music and socializing with friends, but most of all, he loved his grandchildren and watching them grow. Bobby was appreciated by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Bobby is survived by his son, Mike Alexander of Lafayette; daughters, April Martin (Jeff) of Lafayette, Heather Winger (Justin) of Colfax, and Jennifer Brettnacher of Lafayette; sisters, Janet Buchanon of Mulberry and Julia Driggs of Frankfort; step-father, Dick Virgin; step-sisters, Lisa, Kim, and Teresa; and nine grandchildren, Cassie, Sierra, Nathan, Cole, Makara, Zoe, Aubrey, Jozie, and Adalyn.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Donna LaGoy.
Visitation will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Genda Funeral Home, Mulberry Chapel.
