Robert E. “Bob” Huffer

Robert E. “Bob” Huffer, 85, of Frankfort, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home.  He was born July 6, 1932 in Scircleville to Robert E. and Margaret (Rayl) Huffer.

On March 22, 1952, Bob married Prilda Stogsdill; she preceded him in death on August 15, 2009.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Robert E. Huffer, one brother, James Huffer, and two grandchildren.

Robert graduated from Scircleville High School and was a lifelong area resident.  He drove a truck for over 25 years for National Homes in Lafayette and worked for Exide Battery for over 14 years.  He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #976 in Frankfort and former member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #7 in Frankfort and Teamster Union member for 40 years.

Surviving family includes his children, Chris (Mike) Barnett and Robin (Mark) Hendry, both of Frankfort, and Bruce (Holly) Huffer, of Kokomo; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and companion, Mary Crouch.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00p.m. until the start of service.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences can be made by visiting www.gendafuneralhome.com
