Robert Eugene Kehrer

Robert Eugene Kehrer, 82, of rural Frankfort, died June 13, 2021 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Indiana.  He was born August 21, 1938 in Indianapolis, Ind. to Niles C. & Mary Ellen (Crawford) Kehrer.  He married Nancy (Crum) Withrow on September 4, 1993 and she survives.

Bob was a graduate of Arsenal Technical School in Indianapolis.  He had lived in Indianapolis and Westfield, moving to Frankfort in 1993.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves, serving from 1961-1967. Bob retired in 1998 after 42 years from General Electric Company and also worked part time at The Farmer’s Bank from 2000-2009.  Since 2009, he had worked with Garney Enterprises. He faithfully attended Hopewell United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion in Frankfort.  He enjoyed camping, old westerns, music, especially Elvis and Neil Diamond but most of all he loved his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his Wife:  Nancy Kehrer of rural Frankfort, 2 Sons:  Michael A. (Marsha) Kehrer of Ringgold, GA and Brian R. Kehrer of Indianapolis, 1 Daughters:  Tracie A. (Danny) Shearer of Danville, 1 Son-in-Law:  Neil Samuels of Philadelphia, PA, Step-Son:  Matthew A. Withrow of Frankfort, Step-Daughter:  Susan K. (Brett) Henrikson of Lafayette, 12 Grandchildren: Morgan, Melanie, Monica, Stefanie, Justin, Tabitha, Tara, Chelsea, Caitlin, Trevor, Katie and Sophie and 20 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kehrer Jr., daughter, Teresa L. Samuels, 3 grandchildren, a brother, James H. Kehrer, sister-in-law, Charlotte Kehrer and first wife Bonnie Kehrer.

Funeral Services:

 Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  Funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
