Mr. Robert Joe “Bob” Daniels, 87, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans’ Administration Medical Center Indianapolis. He was born in Middlefork, Indiana, on January 29, 1937, a son of the late Roy Daniels and Margaret (Kanable) Daniels.
Bob grew up in Middlefork and later moved to Michigantown, where he completed all 12 years of schooling, graduating from Michigantown High School in 1955. After graduation, he settled on a farm near Thorntown.
Bob honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1960 to 1962. During his time in service, Robert pursued aviation training.
On May 23, 1963, he married Mary Anne (Tomlin) Daniels in Frankfort; she survives.
In 1968, Bob was the clerk and repairman at Thrift Supply in Frankfort. He was also employed at John Deere and Massey Ferguson, both in Frankfort, retiring in 1999. Bob also attended Mechanicsburg Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Daniels of Lebanon; sister, Betty Frances Smith of Frankfort; sister-in-law, Marilyn Daniels of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Harry Daniels, Charles Thomas Daniels, Susie Daniels, Carol Ann (Paul) Tolen, and Virginia Ruth (Leland) Caldwell and brother-in-law, Max Smith.
No services are planned at this time. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
