Robert L. Cochran, 83, of rural Frankfort, Ind., died August 22, 2018 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. He was born August 4, 1935 in Forest, Ind. to Clarence & Margaret (Ralph) Cochran. He married Judith A. Good on October 19, 1957 at the New Hope Church and she survives.
Mr. Cochran was a 1953 graduate of Forest High School. He was a lifelong farmer and Clinton County resident. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Korea during the Korean War. Bob was a member of New Hope Church, Plumb Masonic Lodge #472 in Colfax for over 50 years, was a past Clinton Prairie School Board Member from 1977-1984 and during that time the Clinton Prairie Elementary School was built. He loved his children and grandchildren and attended all their activities, 4-H and sporting events. He also loved his dogs, Gigi & Sophie.
He is survived by: Wife: Judy A. Cochran of rural Frankfort, 1 Daughter: Cathy A. (Jay) Ayers of Frankfort, 2 Sons: Dan R. (Janie Brock) Cochran of rural Frankfort and Michael M. (Rhonda) Cochran of rural Colfax, Sister: Patricia Robertson of Forest, Ind., 7 Grandchildren: Kyle Cochran, Kari (Nate) Arnold, Calin (Grant) Ostler, A.J. Cochran, Blake (Brook) Ayers, Jessica Ayers, and Jade Ayers. 3 Great Grandchildren: Olivia and Avery Arnold, and Isabelle Ayers, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 infant children and 1 Great Granddaughter, Avery Blaire Ayers.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at New Hope Church, 5306 W CR 600 S, Frankfort, Ind. with the funeral service beginning at 6 p.m. at the church. Shan Sheridan will officiate. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery, Colfax, Ind. Memorial donations may be made to New Hope Church. Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., is assisting the family with arrangements.
