Robert M. “Bob” Ruch

Robert M. “Bob” Ruch, 91, of rural Mulberry, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Frankfort, Indiana, on May 30, 1931, to Maurice J. and Hazel M. (Williams) Ruch. He married Charlotte Jean Yoder on December 1, 1952; she preceded him in death on October 18, 2022.

Bob graduated with the class of 1949 from Mulberry High School, where he was a very good basketball player, and attended college at Bradley University in Peoria, IL. After school, he served in the National Guard. Bob retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo and also worked on the family farm with his dad and brother Ned. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially Purdue and the Pacers, collecting Civil War relics, mowing his big lawn with his tractor, babysitting for his granddogs, building a good fire, and in his younger days, helping his kids with their 4-H animals. One of his favorite things in recent years was driving his pickup truck to the Mulberry gas station to buy cigars. Bob was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ near Frankfort.

Surviving Bob are his children, Kathleen (Clement) Heincer of Springfield, VA, Kem (Beth) Ruch and Kevin (Glenda) Ruch of Mulberry, and Lisa Ruch of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Rhiannon Ruch of Lafayette, Liam (Amanda) Heincer of Burke, VA, Amanda (Holden) Brackett of Frankfort, Hilary Heincer of Springfield, VA, and Melissa Ruch of Frankfort; and great grandchildren, Hudson Keith of Lafayette, and Zach Heincer and Rosie Heincer of Burke, VA.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Max and Ned Ruch.
