Robert Randall “Randy” Kingery, 67, of Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born December 15, 1951, in Frankfort to Robert “Bob” and Rita (Thomas) Kingery; his mother survives in Rossville.
In 1970, Randy graduated from Clinton Central High School and then attended Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. From 1972 to 1974, he served in the United States Army as a clerk for his unit during the Vietnam Era. He was a farmer and carpenter before retiring in 1999. In his retirement, Randy also served as the City Building Inspector for four years and had worked in the City Clerk Treasurer and County Auditor Offices. He was a life-time member of the Eagles Lodge, enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid Purdue Boilermaker and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
In addition to his mother, Randy is survived by his daughter, Ellen (Denny) Hurt, of Frankfort; step son, Dustin Klecz, of Carmel; brothers, Kevin (Terry) Kingery, of Howe and Larry Kingery, of Rossville; sister, Lori North, of Frankfort; and sister-in-law, Sheila Kingery, of Otisco; and three grandchildren, Alex, Kasey, and Kolby. Randy is preceded in death by his father and brother, Darrell Kingery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Frankfort Eagles Lodge with a pitch in dinner to follow. In lieu of flowers and in support of the Eagles Lodge, memorials in Randy’s name may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana, Advancement Office, 435 Limestone St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
