Robert & Regina Beckner

Robert Lee Beckner, 88, and Regina Lou Beckner, 82, both of Flora, Ind., succumbed to their injuries, Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis as a result of an automobile accident.  Robert was born August 10, 1933 to the late Arthur & Ruth (Thompson) Beckner.  Regina was born September 15, 1939 to the late John & Clarice Lorine (Harper) Sheffield. Robert and Regina were married July 17, 1982 at the First Brethren Church, Flora, Ind. and have celebrated over 40 years of marriage.

Robert attended school in Flora and was a lifelong Flora resident.  He worked at Alcoa for over 30 years.  He enjoyed gambling at the casino, gardening, working in his yard and loved his cars, owning over 50 brand new cars throughout his life.

Regina attended Tompkinsville Schools in Kentucky.  She had worked at National Cigar Company, Peter Paul, Brethren Home and Milner’s Healthcare before she retired.  She enjoyed cooking, canning, traveling and hosting get togethers with family and friends.  She loved beautifying the home with plants and flowers and feeding a squirrel that she named affectionately “Munchy”.

They are survived by 2 sons:  Brian (companion Heather Zook) Beckner and Michael (Rosie) Harrison, nephew:  Rickey (Pamela) Sheffield, 4 nieces:  Tammy Sheffield, Vickie Harper, Shelia Skipworth and Cindy Strong, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Robert was preceded in death by a son, Joey Beckner.

Regina was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Rasner, sister, Ruth Hale and 2 brothers, Marshall & Alton Sheffield.

Funeral Services:

 Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  Regina will be buried at Green Lawn Memorial Park.  The funeral will then continue to Zion Cemetery, Carroll County for the burial of Robert.  Memorial donations may be made to Clinton County Cancer Fund.
