Robert “Robby” Eden Benge, 71, of Frankfort, Ind., went to be with Jesus on August 23, 2022. He was born on August 15, 1951 in Frankfort to Paul George Benge and Wilma Frances (Rogers) Benge. He married Linda Kay Gibson on June 19, 1990 and she survives.
Robby was a 1969 graduate of Frankfort High School. A veteran of the US Marines he served in Vietnam from 1970 – 1973. He was a member of the Scotland Christian Church. He had worked at Goodwin Funeral Home as a young man and retired from Frankfort Community Schools where he was a custodian and facilities manager for 17 years. Robby enjoyed guitar playing, golf, flea marketing and acting at the Red Barn and Civic Theatres. Rob’s greatest joy in life was being called “Dad and Grandpa”.
Surviving are his Wife: Linda K. Benge of Frankfort; 7 Sons: Justan Benge of Ohio, Scott (Debra) Benge of Texas, Robert Eden Benge II of Las Vegas, Quentin Benge of Frankfort, Isaac Gibson Benge (Camille) of Kokomo, Brian Benge (Naomi) of Colfax, and Jamison Pitzer of Frankfort; 3 Daughters: Nicole Benge (Angelo) Williams of Las Vegas, Serenity Gibson Benge (Lee Van Meter) of Frankfort, and Emilee (Ron) Miller-Norris of Kokomo; 2 Sisters: Diane Bower of Lafayette and Lori (Mack) Perkins of Brookston; 1 Brother: David (Mary Ann) Benge of Andalusia, Illinois; 25 Grandchildren; and 9 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Arianna Belinda Benge, and sister: Margery McDonald.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held at 12 Noon – 3 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at The Frankfort Crossing School, 3002 E. Wabash St., Frankfort. A Memorial Service with John Leitzel officiating will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the school. Goodwin Funeral Home and Clinton County Crematory are honored to assist the Benge family.
