Robert Walton Broady, 93, of Mulberry, passed away December 27, 2022, at Mulberry Health & Rehabilitation. He was born November 20, 1929, in Horse Cave, Hart County, Kentucky, to Johnny C. and Ruby L. (Perkins) Broady.
A 1947 graduate of Hart County Memorial High School, Robert married Mary Joyce Robertson on June 4, 1949, at Horse Cave, Kentucky. They moved to Rockville, Indiana, where they lived two years before moving to Mulberry in 1954.
Robert was employed as a mechanic with the Grounds Department at Purdue University for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He was also a former employee of the Old Continental Freezer Company. Robert enjoyed gardening, going to auctions, and collecting depression glass. He was a member of the Hardyville United Methodist Church in Hardyville, Kentucky.
Surviving Robert are his sons, Clayborn Broady and Robert Broady, Jr., both of Mulberry; daughters, Catherine (J.D.) Jesse and Pamela Broady, both of Lafayette; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Johnny Broady, Jr.; and sister, Anna Maxine Parent.
Visitation will be Monday, January 2, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until the beginning of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Smith officiating at Genda Funeral Home~Mulberry Chapel.
