Rodney “Boomer” Smith

Rodney Schirra “Boomer” Smith, Jr., 33, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at home.  He was born in Frankfort on May 25, 1987 to Rodney Schirra and Teresa Lynn (Isenberg) Smith.

Boomer graduated from Frankfort Senior High School in 2005.  He spent most of his life in Frankfort and Florida.  He worked in lawn and landscaping with his Uncle Dan.  After high school, he played softball and held the home run state record.  He also enjoyed golfing and fishing.  He was always the life of the party and loved his kids

Boomer is survived by his parents; sons, Quincey Smith and Myles Smith; daughter, Amiah Smith; fiancé, Autumn Dick; brothers, Dusty McBee, Justin (Laura) McBee, Matt (Jamie) McBee, Kyle (Cassidy) Wurtzburger, and Elijah Smith; sister, Danielle (Mark) McBee; maternal grandmother, Barbara Mathews of Frankfort; and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins aunts, uncles, and too many friends to count.

He was preceded in death by Pops, Grandma, Pap, Uncle Joey, Uncle Danno, and Uncle Tim.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 4:00 pm until the start of the funeral service at 6:00 pm at Cornerstone Assembly of God, 5641 W. Mulberry Jefferson Road in rural Frankfort.  The service will be live-streamed and may be viewed at www.gendafuneralhome.com.  Pastor Brad Fullerton will officiate.

In adherence to the current CDC guidelines, it is requested that guests follow the appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.
