Inside INdiana Business is reporting that Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is planning to keep tuition flat for the 2021-22 academic year for all students. The institute says the decision was made in response to economic uncertainty brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rose-Hulman says President Robert Coons and his executive cabinet recommendedย freezingย the tuition rate for the upcoming school year to help students and families still recovering from the financial impact of the pandemic.
โWhile the past year has been challenging for us, the pandemic has given us an opportunity to examine new and creative ways for us to provide the education thatโs so vital to our mission,โ said Coons. โOur goal is to find ways to continue to make a Rose-Hulman education affordable for all students and their families, which is especially important in these uncertain times. Itโs also essential that we do this while still maintaining the elements of Rose-Hulman that we hold so dear: a hands-on education within a caring community of faculty, staff, and students that produce alumni who are difference-makers in their science, engineering and mathematics career fields.โ
The institute says itย is alsoย looking intoย alternative ways toย reduce costs for students, including textbooks.
