In celebration of School Board Recognition Month this January, the Rossville Consolidated School District proudly acknowledges its esteemed board members’ unwavering dedication and commitment. Dr. Jim Hanna, Superintendent, belabored these individuals’ pivotal role in shaping the district’s future and fostering its students’ success.

Functioning as a vital link between the community and the classroom, the elected school board members are instrumental in establishing policies that provide the necessary framework for the district’s public schools. The Rossville School Board oversees an annual budget of over $ 11 million, catering to the educational needs of 927 students and managing a staff of 133 employees.

Under the astute leadership of the school board, the district has allowed students to achieve notable milestones and earned various honors in recent years. The board’s focus on academics, agriculture, the arts, and athletics while providing a safe, secure school environment in which students can learn and grow is commendable.  In recognition of these achievements and as part of School Board Recognition Month, the district takes great pride in recognizing their contribution to the school community.

Kate Washburn, President of the Rossville Classroom Teachers Association, emphasized that the impact of school board members extends beyond January, constituting a year-round commitment to ensuring the community’s voice in education decision-making. She urges the community to express gratitude and support for board members Joe Hufford, Nathan Root, Nathan McCullough, Julia Mink, and Jentry Pendleton.
